Our Story
Ritual Ink 49.
Salisbury, Maryland
A black and grey realism studio with a single focus: producing work of the highest possible standard, one piece at a time.

Black & Grey Realism
One style.
Done right.
Ritual Ink 49 is a black and grey realism tattoo studio based in Salisbury, Maryland. We specialize in a single style — because we believe genuine mastery comes from focus, not breadth.
Black and grey realism is the discipline of building a full tonal range — from the deepest shadow to the brightest highlight — using only black ink diluted in distilled water. No colour. No fill techniques. Just craft.
The style rewards precision. A well-executed piece looks photographic. A poorly executed one looks flat. The difference is training, patience, and an uncompromising eye for detail — all things we bring to every single piece we produce.
Every design we create is custom. We do not work from flash sheets. We do not rush. We work until the piece is right, and then we work on it some more.
What We Stand For
Our Values
One Specialty
We do black and grey realism exclusively. Mastery over one discipline beats mediocrity across many — every time.
Custom Work Only
No flash, no off-the-shelf designs. Every piece is created specifically for the person wearing it.
Hygiene & Safety
Single-use needles, sterile equipment, and a clean studio environment — these are non-negotiable, every single session.
Aftercare
Full aftercare guidance and a free touch-up within the first year. The commitment does not end when you leave the chair.
From Idea to Ink
How It Works
A clear, transparent process — from the moment you reach out to the day your piece is fully healed.
First Contact
Reach out through the booking form, Instagram DM, Facebook, email, or by phone. Tell us your idea. No concept is too rough at this stage — we work through everything together.
Consultation
We meet to discuss your vision, sizing, placement, and what will work best on your skin. This is where rough concepts become concrete plans. Always free, always no obligation.
Custom Design
Your tattoo is drawn specifically for you. We share a draft, take your feedback, and refine until every detail is exactly right. No stencil hits your skin until you approve it.
Tattoo Session
We walk through placement, apply the stencil, and get to work. Sessions are calm, focused, and professional. Your comfort is taken seriously from start to finish.
Healing & Aftercare
We provide a full aftercare kit and written instructions on the day. A free touch-up within 12 months is included to keep the work looking its best as your skin fully settles.
No Surprises
What to Expect
We believe in transparency. Here is exactly what you can expect when you work with Ritual Ink 49.
A Real Conversation First
We never start designing until we understand your vision. The consultation is thorough — we talk through subject matter, placement, size, tonal range, and long-term considerations. This is collaborative work.
Honest Advice
If something won't work well — too small, wrong placement, a reference that won't translate to skin — we will tell you. Our job is to create work that looks exceptional, heals well, and holds up over time.
A Clean and Professional Environment
Every surface is cleaned between clients. All needles are single-use and disposed of immediately. Our equipment meets and exceeds industry hygiene standards. You will see this for yourself when you come in.
Time Taken Seriously
We do not double-book or rush sessions. When your appointment is scheduled, it is yours. Sessions run for as long as they need to — we do not stop work because the clock says so.
The Work

social media
The best way to see what we do is to look at what we have done. Follow Ritual Ink 49 on Instagram and Facebook for the latest completed pieces, healed work, and in-progress shots.
If you see a style or subject in our portfolio that resonates with what you are imagining for yourself, screenshot it and bring it to your consultation. It is one of the most useful conversation-starters we have.
